"I run a playgroup for toddlers, and until recently I could virtually guarantee that any time one of the little darlings had a cold or a virus, it was headed my way. Autumn and winter in particular were one long battle against aches and sniffles in my house, and I couldn't remember the last Christmas season that wasn't wrecked by flu!
Not this year. After a bit of research, I decided to start taking vitamin C and zinc supplements, specifically to try to boost my immunity. I know vitamin C is an antioxidant, so it's on the frontline against free radicals and viruses; what I didn't know until I researched it was that zinc is also critical for a healthy immune system, and that many people don't get enough of it (especially me, probably, since I don't like most of the high zinc foods).
Anyway, so far, touch wood, I've hardly had any colds, and I feel more energetic and vibrant in myself. Cold season is underway and I feel just fine. Who knows if I'll make it to Christmas, but so far I'm very happy with the supplements I'm taking, and I'd definitely recommend anyone else to try them."
